The leading theory of how the universe came to be is the Big Bang. It states that everything came from one single, extremely hot, and dense point, referred to as the singularity. Then, that singularity underwent a rapid expansion and continues to this day.
However, scientists have presented a new theory that does not argue against the Big Bang theory but rather adds more to it. They say that a mirror universe exists behind that singularity, where time runs in reverse.

The Science Behind the Theory
One of the most fundamental concepts in our universe is symmetry. It dictates the scientific laws of physics and how to understand certain phenomena and properties of matter.
Some notable examples of symmetry are in our biology, where it is often a basis of selection for the evolution of animals, and the majority of life that survives has symmetrical figures.

Our understanding of it implies that any interaction should look the same if you change the charges to the other one, create a mirror image, and run the time in reverse order.

Instead of the concept of from nothing to now, where a single big bang created everything, it would be more complex with this theory, where our universe is moving forward in time, and the mirror universe moves backwards in time.
This means that just like everything we talked about, symmetry being all around us, the universe would also not come from a singularity, but instead be part of a symmetrical, balanced system.
