Editorial Mission and Guidelines

Editorial Mission
At Webpreneurships, our mission is simple: to create educational content that inspires curiosity and encourages lifelong learning.

We focus heavily on science, technology, and human knowledge — but also explore nature, history, space, and general knowledge. What makes us different is how we explain these ideas: every article is written in our own words, from our own understanding. We aim to make complex topics clear, relatable, and thought-provoking — so that readers walk away thinking, “I never knew that — and now I do.”

Editorial Principles

Our work is guided by these principles:

  • Accuracy — We strive to fact-check claims and use credible sources.
  • Originality — All content is written in our own words; we don’t copy or repost full articles.
  • Clarity — Complex topics deserve simple, thoughtful explanations.
  • Transparency — We add citations and links to relevant studies, reports, and third-party content whenever possible.
  • Integrity — We disclose when content includes commentary, opinion, or interpretation.
  • Responsiveness — We welcome corrections and feedback to improve our content.

Guidelines for Content

  • Articles are based on research, analysis, and the writer’s own understanding.
  • Commentary and interpretation are included to encourage readers to think critically.
  • Sources are cited and linked when possible, with attribution to original creators.
  • Media and images are used under Canadian “Fair Dealing” principles — transformed and contextualized as educational aids, not as products.
  • We respect copyright and comply with takedown requests when warranted.

Webpreneurships Reference and Citation Style

At Webpreneurships, we value accuracy and transparency when covering educational and science-related topics. For lighter, general-interest articles, we use natural attribution within the text (for example, “according to researchers,” or “a study published in Nature found…”), along with short supporting links where appropriate.

For deeper, research-based features — particularly in our Humans category — we include a dedicated References & Further Reading section at the end of the article. This section lists 3–5 credible studies, academic papers, or institutional sources that support the topic or provide further context for readers.

We use a simplified citation format that includes the author (or organization), year, article title (in italics), journal or publication name, and a working link. For three or more authors, the first author is listed followed by et al. If a source is unavailable online or behind a paywall, we note it clearly (e.g., “Available via academic archives”).

This balanced approach helps maintain both readability and academic responsibility, keeping our work trustworthy, clear, and accessible to all readers.

Corrections & Updates

Mistakes can happen — whether it’s a typo, outdated information, or a misinterpretation. We correct errors when identified and encourage readers to report issues. We can’t always update older content, but all feedback is taken seriously and used to improve future work.

Copyright & Fair Dealing

  • Content falls under Canadian Fair Dealing for purposes of research, private study, education, criticism, commentary, and news reporting.
  • Images are either licensed, public domain, Creative Commons, or transformed with educational/editorial value.
  • We do not sell, license, or monetize third-party images directly; revenue comes only from ads shown alongside our editorial work.
