Copyright and Content Takedown Policy (Canada)

At Webpreneurships, we respect the intellectual property rights of others and are committed to operating in accordance with Canadian copyright law, including the Copyright Act of Canada and its provisions for Fair Dealing.

All written materials on Webpreneurships.com are created in our own words, structure, and explanations, based on our independent research and understanding of the topics we cover. While our work may discuss widely available facts or studies, every article is uniquely interpreted, written, and presented to ensure originality and educational value.

If you believe that any material on our website infringes on your copyright, you may submit a Notice of Alleged Infringement. We will investigate all claims and take appropriate action, including modifying or removing the allegedly infringing material when warranted.

Fair Dealing Notice

Some content on this website may be used under the principles of Fair Dealing (Section 29 of the Canadian Copyright Act), which permits limited use of copyrighted material without permission for purposes such as:

  • Research

  • Private study

  • Education

  • Criticism or review

  • News reporting

  • Parody or satire

At Webpreneurships, we use select images and media in a transformed and contextualized way, typically enhanced with commentary, factual context, visual design, or other editorial additions. These transformations serve to educate, inform, or entertain, making the resulting content significantly different from the original.

We do not profit directly from any images or media, nor are they sold, licensed, or presented as standalone assets. Our revenue, where applicable, comes from display ads on article pages that feature our original editorial content, of which transformed images may be a small, supporting element. The image is never the product, but rather a visual aid in the broader informational content.

We make every effort to provide attribution and credit when available, and we remain open to communication from rights holders. If you believe an image or content exceeds the scope of Fair Dealing or is not sufficiently transformative, please contact us — we will promptly review and address any concerns.

Our Image & Content Sourcing Policy

We make every effort to use content that is:

  • Licensed for use (free or paid)

  • Public domain and Creative Commons

If you believe we’ve unintentionally used your copyrighted work, we welcome your feedback and will act promptly.

Scientific References & Third-Party Content

Our editorial articles often reference scientific studies, academic journals, research papers, news reports, or other third-party websites to support and enrich our educational content. These references help ensure that our readers receive accurate, insightful, and well-contextualized information.

In these cases:

  • We do not claim ownership of any third-party studies, reports, or journalistic work.

  • We summarize, interpret, and criticize findings in our own words to make complex topics more accessible.

  • We often analyze or comment on the material, adding our own perspective, explanation, or educational insight based on independent research.

  • When applicable, we include a working source link or a clear reference to the original publication for full transparency.

  • Any direct quotations are minimal, properly attributed, and presented with editorial context.

Our use of referenced materials serves to inform, educate, report, explain, and offer commentary or opinion, resulting in a unique and transformative piece of content. We believe this aligns with fair dealing provisions for education, research, criticism, and commentary.

The Canadian “Notice and Notice” Regime

Webpreneurships operates in accordance with Canadian copyright law and the Notice and Notice regime. If a copyright owner believes their material has been used in a way that infringes their rights, they may contact us with a detailed written notice. In compliance with this system, we may forward such notices to the party responsible for the content, if applicable.

However, under Canadian law, we are not required to remove content automatically.  Content will only be taken down if it clearly violates copyright law and Fair Dealing does not apply. This ensures a fair balance between creators’ rights and the public’s right to access, commentary, and education.
