Most of us can only dream of being able to fly, even for a short period of time. A lot of birds can do that naturally, but what most of them can’t do is fly without needing to land.

Imagine being able to fly for months and months without needing to stop and land. That is one of the unique qualities of this bird, the “Common Swift“.

These birds can remain in the air for 10 months straight. Now you are probably wondering how they can survive out there.

Well, according to scientists, they also eat, drink, and even sleep in the air. They are so good with their aerial capabilities that they spend most of their lifetime up there. What a life, huh?

2. The Place Where It Rains Fish

Raining Fish

Most people catch their fish in the waters, but in the city of Yoro, Honduras, the fish come to them.

Well, that might be a stretch, but several times a year, a strong enough storm hits the country, and the fish from the nearby waters can be lifted by the strong winds.

Locals in the city believe that it is a miracle gift to them from hundreds of years ago. Whether it is true or not, it will be a lot of help to humanity if fish just rains down on us, a few times a year too.

3. The Mammal That’s Highly Resistant to Snake Venom

HoneyBadger

Only a few animals can ever truly withstand the venom of deadly snakes. One of these species is the “honey badger”, considered one of the toughest animals out there in nature.

Scientists believe that after being bitten by a snake, some of them can still experience paralysis and difficulty moving. However, most if not all, continue their day as if nothing happened.

This is because they are highly resistant to different venoms but not immune to them. It has also been observed that they can eat some of these venomous snakes, and really do not care if they inflict venom on them or not, they are such badasses of the animal kingdom.

4. The Walking Tree

Walking Tree

Would you believe that a tree can walk? Actually, moving from one place to another despite its roots? If not, then meet the “Socratea exorrhiza“, also known as Walking Palms.

Scientist says that it can move by growing new roots toward the sunlight and shredding the older ones, causing its body to actually move from one to another a few inches at a time.

Some say that it can even reach several meters in an effort to find a better condition for it to live the rest of its life. So, is it like an immigrant tree then?

Well, you can’t blame them, even humans move to find a place where they can live a better life. Still, nature never ceases to amaze us with just how much alike we are with other living organisms on this planet.

5. The Animal That Lives Without Its Head

There’s one animal that can live for weeks without its head. Can you name it

This is a more commonly known fact, maybe because when a few people already found them at their houses moving with their heads like a zombie.

We are referring to cockroaches, one of the few animals that can live for over a month without their head.

Mainly because their body can still breathe even without it; however, they usually die of dehydration and starvation because they can’t use their other body parts for that.
